If you start your day with a genuine “THANK YOU”… you’ll most likely end your day with many more things to say “THANK YOU” for.
Almost everything you do from the moment you wake up is habit. Habits formed from your past. Habits formed, by your consistent application – good or bad.
What habits do you want to create? And what habits do you need to ELIMINATE?
What habits will lead you to create a better life? What habits will lead to your BEST LIFE?
Here’s some common morning habits of the most successful, and most fulfilled people in the world: Exercise. Gratitude. Journaling. Meditation. Cold showers. Correct nutrition. Breathing exercises.
Affirmations.
It all comes down to self-discipline. It’s easier to pick up your phone and scroll social media. But is that going to lead you to happiness? Probably not.
It’s much harder initially to practice self-discipline… but that is what leads to an easier life in the long term.
How do you want to feel? If you want to feel great, if you want to feel happy and positive… do the things that happy and positive people do.
Practice deep gratitude.
Meditate.
Exercise.
Affirmations… whatever works for you. Do it daily and create the habit of positive action. It will not take long before your quality of life starts to improve.
There’s a common misconception that habits are formed in only 21 days. But science shows the number is more like a minimum of 66 days to form lasting, or life-long habits.
Are you willing to commit a minimum of 66 days, in order to change your quality of life FOREVER? Sounds like pretty fair math to me.
Think forward to 1 year, 5 years in the future… How do you want to be living?
Would the consistent emotions you currently experience be acceptable to you if they remained the same?
Or is there better waiting for you? Are you committed to doing that daily work?
According to a recent study by the World Health Organization, around 121 million worldwide people suffer from depression. Shockingly, the percentage of depression is highest among high-income countries like the USA, France and Australia.
The truth is, the quality of our lives is not determined by where we live, how much money we earn, or even the events and circumstances of our life.
The quality of our lives is merely the quality of our perspective.

If you find yourself living "paycheck to paycheck" then it's possible that you've cultivated a scarcity mindset in relationship to money. At some point in your life you may have experienced an event which now dictates your mindset concerning your finances. Consequentially, you now operate from that mental space leaving you with less than desirable results.

When you have an INTENTION you are far more likely to achieve the results you want because you are actively searching for positive ways to make your intention true to you.
Think about it: Say you set the INTENTION in the morning to be more lighthearted and playful in the day – do you think it is more likely or less likely that you will be searching for and CREATING moments of fun, playfulness and joy throughout your day?
Can you then understand how, by setting many powerful INTENTIONS, every single day – these intentions can completely change your life?
Of course, they can, because every single positive moment in your life carries a compound effect.
That little moment of fun and playfulness with your partner, friend or family – leads to a stronger, closer relationship in the future. Which leads to better and better moments, stronger and stronger bonds, happier and happier times.
The INTENTION of patience and non-judgement: that builds your strength in that area, and in the future when life provides you with great challenges your RESPONSE to those challenges affects your future in a much more positive way than if you didn’t practice that intention.

It is during our darkest moments… that we must FOCUS… to see the light.
It is during our hardest moments, our most difficult challenges that we must trust that this moment will not last forever.
In our most difficult moments we must remember that this moment will pass… we should remind ourselves that all difficult moments pass, the rain doesn’t last forever… the sun will shine again. We don’t know what this will mean in the greater perspective of our life.
Are you afraid of the dark? I used to be. Not only as a child who was scared of imaginary monsters under the bed – but as an adult too.
To live the human experience means to live both in the light and in the dark. Mother nature shows us this polarity in many ways. Day and night. Oceans and deserts. Summer and Winter.
When we are living in the light, life is good. We know who we are and where we are headed – nothing can stand in our way. We can see clearly.
While we want to spend most of our days in the light, that is, in positive emotions like joy, happiness and gratitude, it is an inevitable part of life that at times we will experience the opposite. There has to be darkness in order to appreciate the light, just as there needs to be a struggle and hard times to truly appreciate the good times.
But what happens when darkness descends on your life?
Maybe you lose your job, or a relationship fails. Maybe your mental health takes a steep decline. Sometimes it doesn’t seem fair. Sometimes there seems to be no good reason for this to be happening. Darkness is just a part of life.
However it happens, when we find ourselves in the darkness, we can feel lost, alone and even scared. It can feel as though there is no hope for the future. Motivation disappears. Everything feels like an uphill battle.
It has taken me many cycles of light and dark in my life to understand that in the moments of darkness in our lives we are not lost, we are simply learning a new way of being. We are growing. We are expanding.
When a tree that has spent all summer blossoming in the sunshine begins to feel the inevitable pinch of the autumn air on its leaves, does it just shrivel up and die? No. It changes. The inner knowing of the tree allows itself to surrender to the world around it with grace. The tree allows its leaves to change colour, shrivel and fall away – all the while knowing that this is not the end… just a new beginning.
Even though it may be hurting, the tree knows that come spring, as the air begins to warm and the light gets brighter new growth will come. And that is exactly what happens. As the season changes, the tree is renewed. After the months of darkness, the tree flourishes for another season.
Life is full of transitions. But, perhaps because we fear change, we resist the dark winters of our experience.
What if you made a different choice?
What if, instead of resisting our dark times, you embraced them as a time of rest, renewal and regeneration?
What if you could learn to love the darkness in your life as much as you love the light?

Today I want to share with you an eye opening story about a young man and his mentor.
It is a story about not letting anything anyone says, or does get to you. Including family or friends.
It’s about not allowing negativity inside. Not allowing opinions to dictate your wellbeing.
It’s about taking responsibility for your own feelings, no matter what anyone else thinks or says ABOUT YOU.
So the story tells us, that there was this young man, who was living with his family because he didn’t yet have the means to move out.
The young man would visit with a mentor once a week, and every time, he would complain about his family, saying how negative they were, how they always pushed him to do things that he did not enjoy, while never supporting him in doing the things he actually did enjoy doing.
He said his family were “dragging him down”
The mentor responded:“But are they really dragging you down?… or are you allowing whatever is being said to you or about you, to drag you down?”
“Are they really dragging you down? Or are you allowing whatever YOU THINK they are thinking of you to drag you down?”
Not truly understanding, and growing angry at the mentor, the young man responded:
“No, they ARE dragging me down. Their negativity drags me down every day. I can’t make up how I feel. They are doing this to me.”

When we set a new goal in life, we are usually filled with optimism, have a crystal clear vision on what we want and are 100% committed to going after it.
But often, over time, and with all the distractions present in our day to day life, we can fall off track and lose that focus we started with. There are lots of things that can distract us, social media, family commitments, television, work, the list is endless. As the distractions add up, the feeling of determination and clarity we initially had can slip away, and with it, the dream of achieving what we want.
However it happens, it is extremely common for our focus and determination to dip now and then when we are on the journey to achieving something we have never done before.
A lot of this has to do with the fact that when we set our sights on achieving something we have new, there is a lack of evidence in our mind that we can achieve it.
Your brain may say to you that because you have never done this particular thing before, that it is a foolish idea to try. You may even tell yourself that you aren’t capable. Self-talk like this can generate a sense of self-doubt which ultimately leads to a decrease in focus. It is the ultimate in self-sabotage.

If you're having trouble getting inspired, it may be simply your choice of verbs. Here are 5
action verbs that can help get you inspired and get you out of your rut.
We've all been stuck in that place where things just don't seem to go forward. We have trouble
getting motivated and our goals seem either out of reach, or too weak. In short, we are
uninspired!
Some self improvement experts will tell you that you have to have a good attitude in order to
improve your life. I would agree with that, but it's not always that easy. It's hard to set
aggressive goals and get inspired to achieve them when your mindset is not right.
If your mind is not ready to embrace more exciting goals, then change will be at best, dif}cult.
In fact, if you're not ready for it, then it will be hard to conquer even small challenges. If you
can't take on small challenges, then it's going to be impossible to change your life to the
degree you'd ultimately like.
To that end, I recommend using action to inspire yourself and create change. In effect, we're
placing the cart before the horse here, and forcing our attitude to match our actions. If you
shake things up by taking action }rst, you'll get your mind ready to create and pursue more
exciting goals.
Below are 5 inspiring action verbs that you can use to shake things up and get yourself
mentally ready to take on new challenges. If you use these techniques, even in small ways, you
will naturally }nd yourself on the road to change. Change leads to bigger and better goals.
Bigger and better goals lead to accepting greater challenges... and so on, and so on.
1. Give - Give to a charity, an individual in need, or simply a friend or relative. You don't
have to give something expensive or big. Just a show of appreciation will do, such
as a card or a ~ower. Why does it work... Giving is a very uplifting experience since
it frees your mind from thinking that there is not enough in the world. Giving
teaches you that there is plenty to go around, and it will cause you to attract more
good things in your life.
2. Learn - Learn a new language or a new dance. Learn about something you know
nothing about, or learn to play a song on the piano or guitar. Why it works...
learning something new develops your nervous system and makes you think in
ways you've never thought before.
3. Change - Change your routine, take a different route to work, change your usual
clothing style, your hairstyle, or change what you normally eat. Why it works...
change begets change. If you want a big change, start by making a small change.
4. Participate - Participate in community activities, a sports team, or join a club. Why
it works... participation requires social interaction and creativity, both of which will
stimulate and inspire.
5. Create - Create a piece of art, write a short story, make a bookshelf, or start a
website. Why it works... creating stimulates all those dormant forces that allow
change to enter your life.
Each time you perform one of these inspiring actions, take several minutes to feel good about
it. You want your attitude to catch up to your actions. Also make sure that you enjoy the
process, knowing that what you are doing is good for you and those around you as well.
Sometimes, just the exercise of reviewing these action verbs will be inspiration enough to get
you thinking of what you could do to change your life. I hope you enjoy using these inspiring
action verbs to change your mental state and improve your life. I'm sure that now you can
think of some on your own. Remember, though, nothing happens without taking action!
